Alfredo Mendoza Promoted to Safety Manager
April, 2017
Esposito’s is proud to announce the recent promotion of veteran team member Alfredo Mendoza to the position of Safety Manager. A native of Peru who came to the U.S. in 1989 after finishing college in his home country, Mendoza worked in the construction field for a few years, took classes at what’s now the Morris County School of Technology in Denville, and joined Esposito’s Electric as an Apprentice in 1996. Following promotions to Electrical Technician and Foreman over the next 20+ years, during which time he managed various crews as well as a broad range of projects, Mendoza was appointed to Safety Manager in February 2017 and is excited about his new role at the company.
“I’ve taken training with organizations like OSHA to become more knowledgeable about their safety mandates and to ensure that our team works safely and follows all safety protocols,” Mendoza explained. “Safety is a growing industry in and of itself with a lot of opportunities to learn and lead our team and it’s been a great experience so far.”
Looking back at the over two decades he’s spent with Esposito’s Electric, Mendoza said that the family-oriented business is different from other companies in the industry. “They’re a great team to work with and they’ve always given me opportunities to move ahead and try new challenges,” he shared. “Esposito’s has expertise in everything from small to high-voltage jobs and I feel lucky to have had access to all parts of the business and to help train others as well.”
While he confirmed that he’ll still be working out in the field alongside his colleagues, Mendoza will now be supporting them by leading the charge on safety. “I’m here to ensure that Esposito’s remains on the cutting-edge of safety because safety involves the whole team,” he concluded. “I’m hoping to make safety a priority for everyone every day.”
